Well, after several disastrous rumors and pathetic internet mumblings, it looks like Futurama might actually, finally, be coming back!! Zoiby want balloon! After it's resurgance on Adult Swim and DVD, and then the back and forth rumors that it "might" return to Fox, it looks like Futurama might actually, really, be coming back--on Comedy Central this time! Don't forget the upcoming straight-to-DVD movie!

Sorry for not seeing this earlier, I so rarely come into this section of the board I must've missed it. But actually, that is sounding really good to me. I quite love it, actually, and I will definitely have to be on the look-out for it when it comes.

That damn picture worked before....
Eh, it was nothing superduper special. Just Fry, Bender, and Leela.
There's also still supposed to be the direct-to-DVD movie this fall.

Yeah, I did an IMDb search for the show yesterday after this discussion and got a movie that said 2008 next to it, so it's two years away.

Is that a whole new feature or just a bunch of episdoes that feature Bender coppled together to milk a couple extra bucks out of fans?

Brand new 90 minute movie/episode. I wouldn't have bought it if it was just some kind of "best of" as I already own all the season box sets.

Futurama's tenure with Cartoon Network's Adult Swim is all done.
Expect to see it show up on Comedy Central now, with the new season appearing this year (sometime).
The new season makes up 16 episodes which will be released on DVD as four movies. So, every four episodes = one new movie. The original cast and crew are back. This doesn't mean it's back for good, but at it is at least back for a little while.
The Bender's Big Score movie makes up, I believe, the first four episodes of the new season.

I thought TBS had it next, as there were points where it would show up on late night during the later parts of the year. Back somewhere in August/September, they ran it on a somewhat inconsistent basis, depending on if the movie they ran before it went over the time limit or if the Braves game they were telecasting went over, so I thought it was TBS that had it.

Well, it's now two years later, but it can officially now be said: Futurama is officially back!!!! New episodes been airing for the last two weeks (missed it on the official premiere but caught the repeat) and it's just as good as it was in it's heyday. Looks like a blast right now.
