I don't know what made me think of this, I just remember watching it religiously when it aired in the 80's. I can't even remember that much about the characters, except for the alien "George" character, he was a policeman or something & had a human partner. I wonder if it's on dvd or even on reruns on tv somewhere?

Yes, I remember it, but I didn't watch it. I was just a kid. The aliens just looked like bald humans with patterns of skin tones on their heads. lol.

I haven't seen the TV series but used to be a fan of Alien Nation The Movie. The strange heads of the aliens and the overall atmosphere - together with James Caan's smooth performance - got me for some reason. But I was pretty young back then, I'm not sure what I'd feel watching it right now.

I don't know why I was such a fanatic about it back in the day. But that's been MANY years ago. lol There was another one called "V" I think,, I remember it b/c Robert Englund was in it. I didn't watch that one very much though.

Yeeeeeeeeeeees I remember it too!
I saw it on TV. Some 8 or 9 years ago. So it definitely must have been a rerun.
I guess there happen to be reruns of it from time to time somewhere.
If I'm not mistaken I think I saw it in the preview on the Sky One British satellite channel a year or so ago.
I can recollect some scenes vividly like for example one in which members of both races played the basketball in which 'bald patchy aliens' were no match for humans as they always scored from all positions and were rebuked by their human partners to play more collectively. They answered that the objective of the game was to score not to pass the ball.
I rememeber also that their ears played the most important part in their sexual life. ;D

Yes I can recollect it too. The main character was the alien serving together with his human partner in the police. But I can't remember his name. The main plot & theme was around aliens' assimilation.

I'm definitely more familiar with the movie than the tv series, though it was basically the same premise. A human cop is partnered with an alien cop. Haven't watched the movie in years, but I still have a VHS copy. In the movie, the alien cop's name was Sam Francisco. Here's another quirk of the aliens that I remember. They would get drunk from spoiled milk.

I've watched it only on TV and I can't remember that milk was so hallucinogenic to them. Anyway I like the idea. ;D Aliens beware of the milk!

To me you are perfectly A-O.K. On the contrary, I'm only suspicious of those who don't like science fiction as they might lack imagination

Oh, well, I guess I'm ok then....I've always had a BIG imagination. I guess that's why I like to write too.

If you wrote 'I'm suspicious of those who don't get Star Trek' - then I'd be in trouble, I guess, but with science-fiction as a genre I think I'm quite safe!

I just remembered another sci-fi show I used to watch..."Time Trax". Dale Midkiff starred in it (he was the dad in "Pet Sematary") & he was a cop who traveled back in time to capture fugitives who were hiding there,,or something to that effect. He had some kind of card that would project a holographic image of a woman who would give him information & such. Anyway, I think I started watching it purely b/c Midkiff was in it, then got into it.

I didn't catch Alien Nation too much, but I do remember one episode where George gives birth and his alien wife is giving him shit about being so whiny while he was pregnant. And that the alien males had pouches or something like kangaroos where they gave birth. And (does she ever write a complete sentence you ask) George's human partner had to stick his hand in the pouch and help deliver George's baby because the baby was breech or something. Whew! I got V not too long ago on DVD, one of my guilty pleasures.

Easy, Bartwald I like all kinds of people even if they don't like Science Fiction. Sometimes only I'm a little bit suspicious but you can sleep well I'm not gonna hurt you I won't be pissed too if you say something bad about Star Trek. I am not a fundamentalist. I'm a very tolerant man.
