According to The Digital Bits and TV Shows on DVD, the hit 70's TV series, The Six Million Dollar Man, starring Lee Majors, is being prepped for DVD release next year to coincide with the big screen, big budget version starring Jim Carrey. (??!!) This was bar none my favorite tv series as a kid, and regardless of how the movie version turns out, I am really looking forward to the DVD release. Any other fans here?

Never watched the show... But last I checked, this movie was going to be directed by Todd Phillips (Road Trip, Old School, Starsky & Hutch). Considering this guy made a comedy out of Starsky & Hutch (not to mention his overall experience in the realm of comedy), I would not be surprised if this ended up being a comedy. In fact, I can almost assure you, it WILL be a comedy.

Oh, it's already a known fact that it's going to be a comedy, hence the casting of Carrey. Which is cool for Carrey/comedy fans, but kind of a drag for serious Bionic Man fans, as I always imagined when they got around to doing a big screen version that it would be a big budget serious action flick with state of the art effects. Well, I guess it'll probably still be a big budget flick with state of the art effects, only now it's a comedy. I'm sure I'll still go see it, but alas....

I was a big fan of the show but I don't know about the Carrey/comedy thing...
