Do Not Disturb was, in my opinion, a horrible film. Although it really had things going for it. One thing was the great cast: William Hurt (whom I love), Jennifer Tilly, Denis Leary, and Michael Chiklis. The plot wasn't that bad either: a little girl gets lost in nighttinme Amsterdam and witnesses a brutal murder. However, she is deaf and can't talk. When she finds her parents she writes about the murder, but her parents dissmiss it as one of her imaginary games. Now she is being stalked by the hitman who killed the man. Twists and turns are abound. But it all came crashing down because of the fact that it was a B-movie. The special effects sucked (the plane, even the night sky), the script had wooden dialogue and stupid humor, William Hurt kept switiching from a Southern accent. Everyone sounds American in Amsterdam, hell, they even drive the cars the American way. And get this: staying in the hotel is the Marilyn Manson like pedifile metal star Billy Boy Manson. Billy Boy? Is that a country star name? And his band name is The Manson Five. Sounds like pop stars. Oh, and all his fans look like punk rockers. One more big problem is the music: it doesn't set a good mood. It's pretty loud and annoying at times. So overall, Do Not Disturb is a poor film, even for a B-movie. If you want to see a good "I can't talk and bad people are chasing me film," see "Mute Witness." Not this piece of crap.

Your debut review here, frank, isn't it?
Thanks for posting it. As I said before - I think this is an original (yes!) B-movie ride, with surprisingly good cast and a great setting (you can't get tired of Amsterdam); clearly a guilty pleasure and the its originality mainly stems from weird balancing between suspense and hilarity but, at least for me, it worked well.

I've seen this played on TV over here quite recently, so I think I'll sit down and give it a shot one of these days. Such polar opposites of view means I could fall into one category.

It's got good pacing and constant twists, so there's a good chance you end up liking it, slayrrr.

Just saw this one last night, and, well, it was decent. The plot was pretty cool, the mystery was pretty involving and actually pretty good, and it allowed for some twists that I never saw coming, which is a big plus. The final chase is pretty nice, ending it on a grand bang that featured a nice joke with the bum they kept running into.
However interesting the plot is, though, is ruined by the incredulousness of it. Doesn't seem very likely that it would happen the way that events unfold. Plus, I found it pretty hard for William Hurt to perform the stunts his character did in the film.
Basically, all this film really suffers from is believability, which is hardly a factor that matters around this side of the Board. I'd give a 6/6.5 out 10, maybe 7 if I was feeling generous, but I wouldn't do more than that.

Agree totally, slayrrr. Believabililty is its only major problem and yeah - you can't even start imagining Hurt doing all the stunts here... But it's still fun.

Exactly right. That's the one thing that hurt it, but it was a decent enough hour and a half. 5$ bargin bin pick-up, though, for me, as I don't see myself paying much more for it.
