Scary Movie 4
My face muscles are sore from laughing so much, and don't even get me started on my gut. Sure, there were a couple of missed opportunities-
See also: Scary Movie See also: Scary Movie 2 See also: Scary Movie 3 But mostly, see also: Scary Movie 2
But there was a substantially higher number of hits than misses. This was a stupid, stupid movie. And that's what makes it the best of the... um... trilogy.
I'm not gonna list the movies (Horror or non) that they do spoof, because that's half the surprise. The other half are the surprising cameos that show up, either to play a simple character with random (therefore funny) lines, or to make fun of themselves.
David Zucker has done more to the Scary Movie series than the Wayans Brothers could dare to dream. Because of Zucker, Scary Movie feels more like Airplane and less like White Chicks.
Even though the closest thing this movie has to any kind of competition is the Pink Panther, Scary Movie 4 is the funniest movie of the year thus far. If you can appreciate a good spoof and can tolerate a little stupidity, then David Zucker - the master of the genre - has brought you something worth your time.
And one more thing, Craig Bierko (Max Baer from Cinderella Man) makes a believable Tom Cruise. ;D

Well, I enjoy the Zucker brand of comedy more than the Wayans Brothers form of comedy. Part 1 wasn't that spectacular, 2 is more watchable, but 3 is the one I really loved about this series. That was the style of humor that I really enjoy, and I'll be looking forward to seeing this one soon.

I thought 1 sucked. The Wayans are not funny, and their take on the genre was pretty cringe-inducing. 2 was more watchable as it had a better cast that didn't rely on the Wayans delivering the laughs. 3, as you said, is non-stop laughing from start-to-finish, and when I go see 4 sometime soon, I'll feel the same way.

I've never seen any of 'em and I don't plan to start here.
Ha!
I'm just not a fan of slapstick anymore.

Lighten up, Q. Life's too short to be an angry white boy all the time.
Only saw part 1 (average) and maybe 2, I honestly don't remember. I'll get around to seeing 2 and 3 eventually. The comment that the latter two are more like AIRPLANE and less like WHITE CHICKS is promising though.
EDIT: Meant to say, I'll get around to seeing 3 and 4 eventually. Damn sequels...

The weakest thing about 3 and 4 are the resolutions. I have to admit, though, they're leaps and bounds ahead of the resolution of part 2. But thus far, the Usual Suspects ending from the first one is still the best ending of the series.

Who said anything about being angry? I just don't have the slapstick taste anymore. And as much of a fan of horror as I am, I don't like parodies taking away from classics. I think this stuff kinda demeans the original source material. For instance, when I saw Empire Strikes Back when it was rereleased in the theater (not horror, I know, but the point is the same) in the late 90's, I started laughing when they played Darth Vader's theme. Why? Because that theme had been played for Mr. Burns on the Simpsons-- and that's what I thought of!.

I saw Scary Movie 4 several days ago. It's half-stupid, half-funny but it seems you can't get a better parody these days. It's safe to say that anyone who enjoyed #3 will like #4, too. 6/10
I agree that the latest two parts are more in the vein of Airplane! than the first two - and that's why I prefer the new ones, too - but, truth be said, the exact Airplane!-quality it ain't.
