It's like she, or her dialect coach, was just trying to go way over the top & stereotypical w/ the accent.

Thanks. I was wondering if it was well-written or not. ;D

Yup, Smitty - I liked your review, too! Good evaluation grid, as well. I wouldn't go as far as to saying the acting was worth a 1, but your reasons for grading it so low are pretty convincing.
Nice job!

Checked out your review too, Smitty, and it's just as I feared. I have heard almost nothing but bad regarding this movie, and your review was the final nail in the coffin, no pun intended. This flick's getting some of the worst reviews I've read in a while. I don't always let other's opinions sway me too much if I really want to see a movie, but when they're so overwhelmingly bad, I can't help but notice. When will Hollywood stop with the, "Oh, it's just a summer movie and doesn't really have to be that good.", mentality? When did "popcorn movie" come to really mean "another crappy summer movie"? Personally, I'm getting a little tired of having to "check my brain at the door" in order to enjoy these movies. We already know they can "WOW" us with cool FX, how about "WOWING" us with a cool story to match? Guess I'll catch this one when it hits HBO. I think UNDERWORLD & LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN are premiering on HBO soon. I'll finally get to see them for myself as I read similar things for them as I'm reading for "VH", and skipped them in theaters too. Cool FX are just not good enough to get me into a movie theater anymore.

Oh man, I forgot about "League...". It kinda disappeared around here. Not a good sign...

I said I was expecting this movie to be fun... having seen it, I can now say that it is not. I HATED this movie. It was too long with a terrible plot, that was terribly written. To much was spent on CGI and next to nothing on story development. Why did Mr. Hyde look like a blue, british accented Hulk? Do not see this mess, I can't even give it 1 star. Going to write a full review on IMDB.

While I was impressed that the Monster wasn't a villain, I do think he deserved more screen time and certainly more action.
The idea that he couldn't defeat one of Dracula's brides is ludicris.
Anyway, I liked the movie. I found the Dracula character was more like Lee's vampire than the Lugosi one he was supposed to be. And it certainly would have helped had the Wolf Man been Larry Talbot again (sadly without Lon Chaney) rather than a gypsy prince.
Finally, aside from the windmill scene with the Monster, all the heart of the monsters was gone. Granted, Dracula was always evil, but the other two shouldn't have been.
I suppose I read too much into this kind of thing, but the monsters deserved to be better written than they were.

Finally, aside from the windmill scene with the Monster, all the heart of the monsters was gone. That's very true. Oh, and... the Controversial Movies Poll #1 in Off The Chest section needs your vote, Father Red! (...and frankenjohn's, by the way, as he also liked the movie). I start to believe we can save this film from getting low grades only!

I'll save it.
I haven't laughed so much in years.
You weren't approaching this as anything more than a ridiculous absurd stupid entertainment for slackjawed adrenaline jockies like myself, were you?
This film is what movies shoudl be all about
Entertainment
When was it that a movie designed purely for entertainment wasn't slated in the press?
Sure, if you want anything more than a meaningless way to spenda couple of hours do not go see this movie. You will hate it.
I knew it was rubbish. Therefore, I was not disappointed.

You weren't approaching this as anything more than a ridiculous absurd stupid entertainment for slackjawed adrenaline jockies like myself, were you? Honestly? I kind of was. That's why I'm disappointed with it. But it sure works perfect on the level you defined there, mightyalgo!

I don't mind a check-your-brain-at-the-door movie, once again, I love Armageddon. But come on, I don't want to check THAT much of my brain at the door. To me, it even failed as a piece of mindless entertainment. Harmless, sure. But I'm still very disappointed.
