Well, I usually end up liking movies that nobody else does, so I guess you ARE the right person to ask.
Okay, "City of the living dead". I'm supposed to avoid the cut version called "Gates of hell", right?

You definitely should, Fenril! I never saw the Gates Of Hell version but I can easily imagine all the damage it does to the movie.
If you see City Of The Living Dead (or any other Fulci film), be quick to tell me how you liked it, will you?

It's a deal.
(of course, it'll probably take me at least four months to find any of his movies, but I promise that as soon as I see any, I'll tell you what I thought of it)

You know what? In addition to that top 10 list I did, I'd like to list the following runner-ups:
1.- Nosferatu, eine symphonie des grauens. (How could I ever have forgotten it?!) 2.- 28 days later. 3.- The hole. 4.- Long time dead. 5.- Felidae. (I only remember a few bits of it, but I do remember it as being quite good)

I assume Hammer films count as well, so here goes
1. Horror of Dracula 2. The Devil Rides Out 3. Dracula - Prince of Darkness 4. Delamorte Delamore (Cemetary Man) 5. Demoni 6. The Mummy (Hammer) 7. The Beyond 8. Hound of the Baskervilles (Hammer) 9. Zombie Flesh Eaters 10. Cannibal Ferox/Holocaust/Eaten Alive (they're all pretty much the same)

This is straying a bit off-topic, but I finally did manage to see a few Fulci movies.
The beyond and City of the living dead (plus Zombie), I thought were all great gore movies, with a lot more thought put into them than is usual for these kind of films. Very over-the-top, all three of them, but I still enjoyed them quite a lot.
But I liked "Don't torture a duckling" even more, very intriguing and brutal. The violence hits harder when it occurs in such depressing surroundings.
Haven't managed to find "Manhattan baby" yet.

Good to see someone really liked Don't Torture A Duckling, whereas I do like his 80s gore films alot,I think Fulci's most interesting work was done before, such as A Lizard in a Woman's Skin {great thriller with some amazing dream scenes and a clever plot},Seven Black Notes {an odd but very suspensful mix of Don't Look Now and Poe} and of course Don't Torture A Ducking-that chain whipping scene is heartbreaking set to the romantic song. I think Fulci lost his way a little from around the mid 80s though....

Ah, Lizard in a woman's skin, I had forgotten about that one. Great movie, too, if a bit (just a bit) confusing, because reality keeps getting blurred in with the dreams.
Is Seven black notes the same movie as Murder to the tune of seven notes AKA The psychic, DrLenera?

Yeah,it's the same film, starring Jennifer O' Neill. Very slow but somehow extremely suspenseful,I thought, with a clever plot.

I still haven't seen either Seven Black Notes or Lizard In A Woman's Skin. Sounds like I should finally do it. Lately I saw Fulci's Voices From Beyond: not bad but rather tame in comparison to some of his gorefests. It also features some very bad dream sequences that will make your eyes roll and roll and roll.

In case anyone wondered why I haven't listed my top 10 Euro horror films, I've decided I'm bored enough to tell you all: I simply haven't seen enough.
Yup.
I suck that bad.
Sorry y'all.
