Ha! About this one I'll have to think even longer than about the zombie thing!
Surprised to see The Pool so high, by the way; I guess I should see it finally.

"House with the Windows That Laugh" was made in 1976 by Italian director Pupi Avati. The film is set in a small Italian village. The artist played by Lino Cappolicchio is called to restore the fresco in a little church. This fresco portrays a suffering of Saint Sebastian, and is the last known work of mad painter Bruno Legnani. Our protagonist quickly realises that there is a sinister and omnious atmosphere in the village.Extremely eerie and menacing film which is an excperience in creeping terror. The action is pretty slow-moving,but the climax is so surprising that it left me stunned.A must-see!

Believe me - I'd like to see it! But... how do you get all those obscure movies in Poland? I'm having problems even with getting An American Werewolf In London!

Gosh... I'm not sure if I have even seen enough european horror movies to make a top 10, but I guess I'll give it a shot:
1.- Profondo Rosso (aka Deep Red). 2.- Suspiria. 3.- El espinazo del diablo (aka The devil's backbone). 4.- Abre los ojos (aka Open your eyes). 5.- Das Experiment. 6.- Tenebrae. 7.- Opera. 8.- Tesis (aka Thesis). 9.- Sotto il vestito... Niente!! (aka "Nothing Underneath" ). 10.- Dog Soldiers.
Guess I did, after all. Oh, I did like "28 days later", just thought each of these were even better movies (at least as far as I can remember right now).
I would have liked to add "Long time dead" to the least, but because of a rather poor ending, it would not be possible.

I feel more and more ashamed of not having seen Deep Red... When I finally do, I'll tell you if it changes the order on my European Best list. Fenril? Not a Lucio Fulci fan, are you?

I'm afraid I haven't watched ANY Fulci films yet. I was planning to begin either with "The Beyond" or with "Lizard in a woman's skin". Which do you think is a better place to start (not necessarily the best movie of the two, because it's bound to be "The beyond", right)?

Hmmm... I do love Fulci but I haven't seen Lizard yet. The Beyond was my first movie by Fulci - long time ago - and I didn't like it too much. Now I do, but I still don't think it's one of his definitely best ones. City Of The Living Dead is similar in the subject matter but, in my opinion, it's superior to The Beyond, has weirder scares than this movie (i.e. it doesn't only rely on tearing people apart; there's a genius 'buried alive' scene there, for instance). Am I the right person to ask, though? That is the question! After all, I'm the one who says the commonly hated Manhattan Baby is Fulci's best film.
