After the disappointing Attack of the Clones--which I saw on cable TV and couldn't bear to watch all the way through-- I wasn't sure what to expect and I had a great time making fun of the title, eg. on another board I referred to its opening as "when the Sith hit the fans". In spite of all that, this was actually a really good movie and surpassed my expectations.
Actually I'm something of a latecomer to SW. I didn't bother to see the first 2 movies when they were in theaters, I really wasn't interested at the time. I did get talked into seeing Return of the Jedi when it came out though, and that kindled my interest. Caught the first 2 movies on TV, then Phantom Menace in the
theater.
Other than Clones I"ve enjoyed them all, but if I were to rate them it would go like this:
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Star Wars
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. Phantom Menace
6. Attack of the Clones
