My wife claims that "cock" is an R-rated word, too. I say, it's a PG-13 word. "Cunt" and "Twat," though, are R words. So where does that leave "Cornhole?" I don't either. Cock maybe a PG-13 word if used in moderation. If it's used as an insult term, then R for sure, but otherwise, PG-13 Cunt is R, but I'm not sure on Twat. I know what it is, but it seems like it can be used as a verb: "You stupid twat, look what you did?" I say PG-13. Cornhole? Depends. As an adjective ("Looks like after the guy killed him, they rolled him over and cornholed him.") PG-13. Noun, ("You done got a pretty cornhole there, boy") PG-13. Verb, ("When I'm done cornholing you, I'll kill you.") Still PG-13, since most 13 year olds think it's a dirty word while most of us 18 and above will be sitting there trying to remember what it meant when it was popular for us at that age. There's my official rant about language, talk about a country full of morons: we spend an obscene amount of money on trivial items such as this.

Well, firstly, I have heard that from people--good friends of mine. Very simply, I was offended, pointed out (as kindly as possible) about a half dozen things that sucked about the movie, then stopped before I went into a full-blown rant.
People who like AVP:
--People not familiar with the originals, or didn't see them before, or didn't see them under the right circumstances--so basically, people that aren't real fans of Alien or Predator franchises.
or
--People who are very simply, not movie fans. No movie fan could ever see much good in this movie. Because it had no character development, had numerous plot holes--which says a lot, as there was barely any plot. Like a transparent sponge.
or
--Idiots.

She likes it. I guess I don't like movies then...Funny that. As although the film was a let down and was flawed...it was still a fun romp. I guess we're a couple of idiots. But then again...i never posted

I just saw Alien vs Predator as just that..
Alien vs Predator
If people were expecting more from this film than just that, those are the people I'd consider idiots. ;D

I just saw Alien vs Predator as just that.. Alien vs Predator If people were expecting more from this film than just that, those are the people I'd consider idiots. ;D Hey man, come on! There should be more to it than just that! Otherwise we'd have a movie of Predators walking around grunting to themselves while killing Aliens. That'd be more boring than the AvP we actually had. We had two franchises that were built with a lot of quality by some great filmmakers--and the Alien movies were very good at bringing us strong human characters and great stories. For the film to work, it had to involve humans. Just like Freddy vs. Jason also needed a supporting human cast to carry it. Once AvP got down to just being that: one Predator versus the Aliens, it was dull, with only relatively interesting action sequences carrying it along. No, it needed a strong supporting cast of humans, and it needed a stronger plot. Humans have always been part of the Alien/Predator universes, it would've been stupid to cut humans out when they're brought together. If Hollywood can make brilliant films that are motion picture masterpieces of art and storytelling, then it's not dumb to expect them to do it more consistantly. But these people don't give a shit about making films. They only care about making money. And when people support stupid shit like this, they only serve to convince Hollywood to just keep feeding the sheep the same lame shit over and over again. Well look at me. All these years of saying I'm not an artist... I think I just became one.

While I don't disagree with what ya say Q, I honestly didn't expect much out of this flick because of the name of the title.
I know going in, if I'm expecting AVP to be a film of ALIEN or PREDATOR type quality, I'll just be kicking myself in the balls.
People out there were actually expecting it to be awesome & were excited about this film when it was advertised. Now that I say, come on!

I had high hopes for it right up until I saw these things:
Paul Anderson penned script.
PG-13
Then I boycotted. I may be one man, but I still have my pride.

A lot of death scenes were not shown in their entirely.
Like a Predator swiping his blade across someones face, the camera pans away & only shows you the blade with red over it.
The chest-burt scenes were very short.
This film could have been rated R & it could have shown more per death & shown more gore, but would that help this film? Nope.
Real fans of both franchises already know what the deaths would look like, so I guess the director felt it would have been pointless to show & extend those scenes.
Well, the whole film was pointless, but their was a hint of entertainment value.

well you see...Many of the people who are with you in the 'hate camp' said very openly that Human's should barely have been in the film at all as they are not really part of the comic book.
You can't please all of the people...........

Man, for a film that so many people seem to hate or at least dislike a lot, we sure do discuss it a lot. Oh, look! I just bumped up this thread yet again. Oops!!

Heiney, stop talking about the film and maybe we can let it slide down the pages of the site into the furthest bowels of hell.
Damn, now I did it.
