Tomek Baginski's last animated short (The Cathedral)was nominated for an Oscar - and in my personal opinion it was good enough to win it. Now he has made The Art Of Falling - a 6 mins long piece being presently shown in Poland before the screenings of Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow; I wish I was interested in Sky Captain cause the poster and the memory of The Cathedral really make me want to see this one!

Looks interesting. I'm guessing that this one and the previous one, THE CATHEDRAL, are both traditional cel animation?

Actually, they're both computer animated shorts. But from what I'm hearing they're very different as far as content goes: The Cathedral was a dark fantasy, while The Art Of Falling (or Fallen Art as I think it is going to be translated) is a dark comedy with Monty Python influences - the figure in the poster itself is very similar to Terry Gilliam's drawings in the MP TV-series, isn't it?

Saw it today. And... what can I say? Genius! It really is! The animation is perfect, the script tight and impressive and several images forever-haunting! All this during the handful of minutes the film lasts - if that isn't brilliant, please tell me what is! Here's the official website of the short: www.fallen-art.com/ - you can download the trailer there. I honestly expect another Oscar nom for Baginski for this Fallen Art!

It looked very cool - wish I could download the whole thing since I probably will never seen it playing here in the States.
