With 1995's TOY STORY, the new dawn of animated features began. Audiences witnessed cartoon characters and backgrounds that were more 3-dimensional and "real" looking than anything that had been seen before. A new household word in animation was born too. PIXAR! My favorite from this list is TOY STORY 2. As brilliant as I thought the first TOY STORY was, the sequel turned everything up by a couple of notches, including the laughs. Not to mention that in just 4 short years you could already see a vast improvement in the computer rendering of the characters and the backgrounds. The voice work by the actors was pure genius too. Over at IMDB.Com, I gave the original TOY STORY a 10/10. I gave TOY STORY 2 a 10/10 as well, but only because they won't let you rate movies any higher than that. Yup, it's that good.

Had to go w/ Monster's Inc...another one of my favorites. But the Toy Story's would be my second choice. ;D

My favorite is Antz, with Shrek a very close second. Because they are the most sarcastic (and "adult") of the lot. I haven't yet seen Shrek 2.

Toy Story. At the time, I was just blown away by it! Then came Toy Story 2 and it was just as good! But, had to go with the first, just because it was first!

I already have Toy Story at home and will be watching it soon. Damn! I completely forgot about it! Thanks God I didn't rent the movie and then let it sit on my desk for so long - my, this would cost me almost the Cruise's War Of The Worlds salary!

Shrek, the first one, for me.
I saw Toy Story 2 recently and though I really liked it a lot I also thought that:
a) I laughed more while watching Shrek b) the two songs in TS2 are unnecessary and I'd like the film more without them; especially without the penguin-performed one at the end.
Loved Godzilla though, and thought that Jessie was a helluva character, too!

Monsters,Inc for me as well. I thought it had a lot of 'heart.' Toy Story does too, but I prefer the higher level of animation that was developed for Monsters. Plus, it's just so sweet and cute!

I loved The Incredibles so much. It's in my top 10 all-time films. I think it was Brad Bird above all that really helped make this movie what it was. I mean, I loved Bird from when he worked on The Simpsons (I didn't know what an executive consultant was at the time, but he was credited right after the actors, so he must have been doing something right. On top of that, he directed one of my favorite episodes, "Krusty Gets Busted").
I loved how the movie took its time and developed its characters as well. My friend was shocked to see a superhero cry!
And then, it also has Samuel L. Jackson in it, which is always cool. By the way, today (Dec. 21st) is his birthday. The Internet Movie Database told me.
Before The Incredibles came out, Monster Inc. was my favorite.

For technological groundbreaking achievement in computer animation, my favorite film would be Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Yeah, but judging by it's poor box office, almost nobody bothered to see it, so I didn't bother to include it in the poll. Sorry.
Yeah, Pulp, I liked THE INCREDIBLES a lot too, unfortunately it was released after this poll was posted. We'll have a second poll someday. We do have an INCREDIBLES thread somewhere in this section though.

The 'bug story' was good for me from what I remember. Might have to rent it again.

I loved Finding Nemo. I went to school for this kind of animation, so I have an extra interest in the films--especially Pixar. Toy Story 1 & 2 were also really good.
And you forgot the Final Fantasy: Spirits Within movie that suffered many problems--like not being associated with the Final Fantasy games!
