The trailer got me excited for the movie, but certain things did bug me.
-Dinosaurs? Were they in the original (haven't seen but am definitely going to)? -Island natives look too much like orcses... er... orcs. -Special effects seem to be a step down from Lord of the Rings. Hopefully they fix that while it's still in post production.
But I'm definitely going to see it. Peter Jackson is an excellent director.

-Yes, there are prehistoric creatures on Skull Island along with Kong, in the original. I think they had Kong battle a giant snake in the '76 remake, but I don't think they ever showed any dinos. -I like the look of the natives. It made them look truly wild and not at all like any movie natives we've seen before. -I wouldn't worry about the f/x not looking perfect yet. They still have months to finish cleaning up that stuff.
I'm not a fan of Jackson's LOTR trilogy and like I said before, this remake isn't really necessary, the original is a bonafide classic, but even I'm pretty impressed by what I saw in that trailer.

The dinosaurs look a bit too fake for me. So does Kong. It seems like Jackson's pointing out, "HEY LOOK!!! IT'S CGI!!!!"
Jack Black may be interesting though, and I do like Naomi Watts.

Gotta agree with that statement. I'm surprised actually they released the trailer so soon w/so many scenes. I think the dino integration does need a bit of work but the Kong looks GREAT in my opinion.
I remain excited - saw the trailer on the big screen before World of the Wars and I continue to give it two big thumbs up.

I've seen trailers before where the CGI was incomplete. I love the 1933 original {I imagine they'll be a quality DVD release of it to coincide with the new one},loved LOTR,so I'm having high hopes for this. Kong to me looks surprisingly close to the 1933 Kong, which is a good thing IMO.

I even have the McFarlane figure of ye olde Kong. Same here. That thing is sweet.

The trailer is nicely old-fashioned and actually encourages me to see the film. Even though, as I said here-and-there before, I'm not a fan of the original or the subject matter.
Naomi Watts, right? Yeah, alright - I WILL go see this.

Love all the giant ants, snakes and spiders, but always had a problem with Kong and Godzilla. Strange world, huh?

I like how Peter Jackson looks a little like Charlie Kaufman now.

I saw a picture of Peter Jackson yesterday and was shocked--shocked I tell you!--by how thin the man is!
Supposedly, he's lost 70 pounds while working on King Kong, and they supposedly aren't even done with the movie yet! It comes out in a couple weeks!
I'm still really looking forward to it--especially since I've vowed to cease viewing Hollywood remakes after I see it! At least, I'll stop paying to see remakes in theaters.
Oh, and I'm getting the tin can box set special edition of King Kong 1933 for Christmas from my Mom. She bought it right in front of me on Black Friday.

I almost bought my younger brother that! I elected to go with the Episode III soundtrack (he was also begging for that) because it fits more snugly within my budget.
Yeah, I'm getting stoked for King Kong too. It looks pretty good.
Just watched the original a couple days ago again. Still great.
