Recently I've been on a retro-horror novel spin and read "Tendrils" about a HUGE creature under the ground that sends out these tendrils like big black snakes to feed on people.
"Blow Fly" about nasty killer flies!
"Blight" about nasty killer....moths!
Just finished "John Wayne: The Man behind the Myth" - Very good.
Just started "Bloody Britain", a gory look at Britain's bloody history!

Is it the one written by Harry Adam Knight of Carnosaur fame? I've read this many years ago and intend to re-read it in near future. Who wrote the other ones?

Just finished Cutthroat. It was ok, but not one of my favorite Slade books so far. The first two-thirds kinda dragged, but the ending was pretty good. Now I've started on The Notebook. Shouldn't take long to read that one.

I'm reading. . . COLLEGE TEXTBOOKS! Yay!
But whatever time I'm in between, I was reading this book called Watching Movies where this guy interviews so major film guys about some of their favorite movies. Honestly, I checked it out because there was a Wes Anderson article.

I agree it's not one of Slade's best, but it's good enough anyway. And the Sasquatch ending is a riot! Ripper, on the other hand, belongs to my very favourite novels by him: so many horror tricks there! Watch out, for instance, for the killing toilet seat. ;D

Yeah, the ending was pretty good....but the rest..not so much. At least not as good as the other ones. I'm gonna start on Ripper as I finish The Notebook.

Finished 'Strange & Norrell' - it was ok. Not worth buying (got my copy at the library) but it was as good as new adult fantasy gets these days. The latest Harry Potter was much better in my opinioin.
Now I'm reading Hello Darkness by Sandra Brown. It's short, sweet, and was on Stephen King's recommended summer reading list. So far I'm digging it.

Right now I'm reading City of Night, the second book in Koontz's Frankenstein series. Pretty good so far...

I just finished Howl's Moving Castle about a week ago (totally different from the film, even if you've seen it, read the book they're totally different).
I started The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test but couldn't get into it.
Now I'm reading At Swim, Two Boys.

These days I don't have much time for reading but when I saw that the new Stephen King book - Colorado Kid - has already come out, I couldn't resist grabbing it - and started reading it immediately, too. It's good so far, but it has the feel of From Buick 8 all over it.

I've just read Stepford Wives by Ira Levin. Real Classic! I've bought it accidentally very cheaply in the street in Cracow. The translation was very poor and quite awkward but still I've gulped it quickly as hell and enjoyed it a lot. That's the second book written by Ira Levin with such a nice sci-fi conclusion. The previous I read was "The Boys from Brazil"

If you like his handling of sci-fi I reccomend his book "The perfect day", which could be roughly described as his (twisted, of course) version of "A brave new world".
