THE DRIVER (1978)
Ryan O'Neal plays a professional getaway driver and Bruce Dern is the cop who's been on his trail for a while and is trying to catch him red-handed. Sounds better than it is. Lots of car chases and crashes and minimal dialogue, but I found it a bit anticlimatic.
5.5/10

Vampire Vixens from Venus-80s cheesefest in the grandest tradition, funny, dumb and quite enjoyable. Only for the most tolerant of those tastes, as it's quite bad at times, but it's all part of the cheese. 8/10

Romancing the Stone (Robert Zemeckis) -- if Raiders had been more about Marion than Indy, it might've come out like this. All right for the most part. B.

LITTLE CHILDREN (2006)
One of those, exposing the dark underbelly of the suburbs, kind of movies. During the last 30 minutes, the suspense builds and builds and you wonder how these stories will intersect. When it happens it's a little more lowkey than the suspense would have you believe, but it was still a pretty satisfying movie. The cast are all great, especially Jackie Earle Haley as a registered sex offender, and what can you say about Kate Winslet, one of the great beauties and talents of our generation.
8/10

Gothika-Some nice supernatural hauntings, but burdened by some nonsensical moments and a couple other rather huge flaws. imdb.com/title/tt0348836/usercomments-375The Resurrected-A rather smart, gory film that is one of the better adaptations of H.P. Lovecraft's work he never wrote. imdb.com/title/tt0105242/usercomments-39Dead Birds-Gets rather entertaining when it's stuck with the haunting, but stuck with too much backstory to matter. imdb.com/title/tt0377749/usercomments-102Urban Legends: Final Cut-Really fun sequel that manages to get a lot right with only a few minimal flaws. imdb.com/title/tt0192731/usercomments-220Evil Never Dies-Tame, lame TV-based slasher with only a few momments of any interest amidst a sea of dullness. imdb.com/title/tt0355427/usercomments-8Werewolves on Wheels-Somewhat entertaining 70s action film with too much inactivity to get over it's short running time. imdb.com/title/tt0067972/usercomments-21Gorgo-The third best monster movie ever made, a flawless film that provides as much action and thrills as possible. imdb.com/title/tt0054938/usercomments-53Anna and the King-The film I thought was supposed to count for The Movie Genre club, ended up being a drama based around the same story. Great production values, fantastic sets and some of the ethnic encounters were approaching watchability based on the fact that something was going on, but a little long and action-less for my tastes. Not completely terrible, but just not my kind of film. I'll give this a generous 7/10

It wasn't exactly what Heineken was looking for, but at least you're looking outside your preferred genre. I have yet to see that film myself, but I've been interested. I think it was the year after Anna and the King was released that Fox released an animated version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I... although from what I'm hearing, you might want to stick with the 1956 version with Yul Brynner.
