Top 50 Film Characters of All Time, Take 2

I know we've done this before, but as time goes by, we change. Our opinions change. We discover new characters, and old ones we can't believe we missed.

So think long and hard, because we're giving that list a much-needed update.

Think about characters who left an impact. Characters you remember. Characters you quote. Another thing I'm changing is that if you have a duo or trio that was particularly memorable, they will count as one entry, as opposed to being separated. It seemed a waste of space to give Jay one spot and Silent Bob another.

I'm gonna give you plenty of time to do this, I myself am going to be incredibly busy performing in my College's production of Hamlet up until November 5th, So I'm setting the deadline at November 12th. Give me a list of 100 Characters (In PM, please). That's right, 100. And put them in order of how much you liked them. They will be scored and ranked accordingly.

For help, look at IMDb's Top 250, think of all the cult films you have seen, look at your DVD collection, other threads on the board, or your own personal memory. November 12th is the deadline.

Alternately, we can turn this into the 50 Greatest Performances of All Time. What do you think?

GUIDELINES FOR VOTING:

1. By popular demand, 50 Characters. If you cannot come up with 50, just send as many as you can.

2. "Dynamic Duos" count as one entry. A vote for Jay is a vote for Silent Bob. A vote for Butch Cassidy is a vote for the Sundance Kid. And so on, and so forth.

3. In order to not have one movie or saga dominate the thread movies with more than two characters in the poll will be placed aside, and in place of the highest voted character in the movie will simply link to a website ranking them in order of votes.

4. Sometimes multiple actors can play the same character. The poll is going strictly by character. However, if you wish to highlight a specific actor who played the role (or omit a specific actor who played the role poorly), just place the name of the actor in parenthesis (with a "+" for if you think they are the one and only actor to play the role, and a "-" for any actor you wish to omit)

5. Think outside the box a little bit. Don't think so much on recent years, but think back to the old days. There are plenty of memorable characters within the entire history of Cinema. So think a little bit. IMDb's top 250 is a good place to get ideas, AFI's 100 Years series can work as well (but please don't use that as your primary basis). Your favorite movies will help, a glance at your DVD collection, a look back at your childhood... you have plenty of time to do this, so really think this through.
