I've never seen the movie. I remember seeing the trailer a while back mentioning Arizona, and it looked like it was in a mountainous region.
But if I had to guess, maybe it's when they sight the aliens.

I think it could be a bit more specific than that.
Is no one up to the challenge of the Smitty?!

Well, I did see it, way back when it was originally in theaters, but I'll be damned if I could tell you what scene it is.
So, when exactly are we gonna get to guess at some "classic" scenes?

I saw that movie on TV three days ago! Is it the scene where he gets beamed up?

Oh c'mon man! You guys are movie experts! You've seen everything I have and then some! It'd be too easy to pick the Godfathers and the Titanics and nothing but top blockbusters and Oscar winners! There's more to movies than that! The "extremely popular" film on the list so far, Smitty got in one shot. So I know it's way too easy to go that route.

Scene 4: Movie: Robocop 2 Scene: (Nobody got it!) Robo2 shoots up the Mayor and the bad guys in a crooked deal. Current Score:IamTheSmity --- 10 frankenjohn --- 4 Since there was a complaint about the difficulty of the films I've picked, here's a hint to get underway right away, although, this may make it too easy: Hint 1: This film is a sequel, a Part 2. Hint 2: Takes place after Robo was dismantled by the bad guys.

Okay, first of all, I wasn't implying that you had to pick only blockbusters, Oscar winners, etc. And thanks for pointing out to me that there's more to movies than just those. I also was not complaining about the difficulty or ease of your choices. The point I was trying to make was, that if the thread is titled, "Guess That Classic Scene", then, oh, I don't know, there should actually be some "classic scenes". The Kill Bill scene was arguably close, but Fire in the Sky and Detroit Rock City? Not so much. Notice how when both of those were guessed, you gave the points to the person who came the closest, as opposed to the person who knew exactly what the scene was? That's the difference between guessing a classic scene that most on this board would say, "Oh yeah, I remember that!" or "Hmm, it looks like it might be... so I'm just gonna take a guess and hope that situation happened in that movie." For the record, I saw all three of the movies posted so far, in a theater at that, in case anyone thinks, it's just sour grapes on my part, or anything like that. I was accused of that once before and it ended badly. I'll tell you what. I'll just stay out of this thread so you can run it anyway you see fit without my opinions upsetting you.

When I was doing myh classic scenes section, I did throw in some classic scenes, but I also made the image more difficult to get. If you changed the colors around in the Kill Bill image, it would have taken me longer to get.

I was accused of that once before and it ended badly. I'll tell you what. I'll just stay out of this thread so you can run it anyway you see fit without my opinions upsetting you. Oh for fuck sakes. You don't have to give up and leave. Criminy, where's the fun if only a couple people are playing?? Besides, not all movies have scenes that everyone will agree are "classic." Some people may choose when Robo shot the villian in the skyscraper in the first Robocop, some might choose when he killed Clarence Boddiker (Red Foreman), some might choose when Murphy was killed, or a slough of other stuff in between all those scenes. I'm trying to pick pivotal moments in the films. When Travis first got hit by the light of the UFO, I think that's a pretty important element to the film and story--that's a stand-out scene in a movie dominated by hum-drum sets of average Arizona mountain-based Americana. It may not be a decapitated horse head in a bed, but it's an important scene nonetheless--and a stand-out in it's respective film. If you'll remember, the sick triceratops scene that Bart used (Jurassic Park) in the first installment wasn't exactly one of the most pivotal moments in Jurassic Park, either. It was just a scene to carry the story. It wasn't nearly as "classic" as when the T-Rex ate the lawyer, or jumped in during the climax to snatch up the raptors. For you, sir, (if I can), I'll retitle the thread to more suit your note that the scenes I picked just aren't very classic in the "general population" sensibilities. Keep in mind, I think some of these, the Kill Bill one in particular (so far), are going to be too easy. Looking at this latest one, though, holy crap, it might be one of the harder ones. And as per your statement, I won't be so lenient on the next ones. Since I know we've all seen these movies, there should really be no reason for me to just give in so easily--unless I managed to pick one that is actually blindingly hard or obscure. I should've considered rating each scene with different values depending on the individual difficulties. But, hey, it wouldn't be fair to Smitty or Frankenjohn to start now. Now quit being negative and angry, and start guessing! Check that, better to use educated guesses based on the pictures...
