Hey Quorth, Year 2000 belongs to 90's era whether you like it or not. ;D It was the last year of 20'th century by the way. 2001 + , then should be. Nahh, should belong to the 38,400's year's era. ;D

Sir, I disagree!! I've always just gone the easy route--2000 belongs to the bouble oughts (00's). [glow=red,2,300]Easy way will lead you to Hell ;D[/glow]Otherwise, the 90's began in 91 The 80's in 81 The 70's in 71 [glow=red,2,300]And this is this way[/glow]It throws everything off!! 1 BCE was the first year of the 1000 CE Millennium. Look at it that way. [glow=red,2,300]That sentence is true, look at this Quorth and count 1,2,3....999 whoooops the millennium has only 999 years where's that damn one missing year? This is 1000 year which belongs to this Millennium, the same is with tens and hundreds or in other words with decades and centuries[/glow] [glow=red,2,300]And[/glow]Now everything works. If we have gotten 0 year you would have counted decades in your way.

1 BCE is year zero.
Then came year 1 CE.
Or, simply, that first millenium had 999 years, the rest have 1000!
Like how I've adapted to the new labelling for the years?
I'm sorry Spacer, sir, but I cannot conform to your religion!! I didn't during the turn of the century (2000!!!), and I shant now! I like it the way it is! Whooo!!

I see it as,
12 months 24 days as 1 year BC 365 days later, 1 year C 50 years later, 50 years AD
The problem is that going by or should say starting a calender beginning with someones life after death is dumb. Oh well, 2000 was the birth of the 2nd millienium & was 1 day old, unfortuanetly not a year old.
38,402 is how many years ago that some bolt of lightning struck one very old dude in the head creating the very first thought. Just bullshitin' LOL. Oh & while Im at it, the Dinosaurs died of thirst. At the time of their existence, earth's axis was at a critical point towards the sun & to top it all off, they were very small creatures, maybe 2 feet high. They're bones were chemically altered from to much pressure from the moons gravity, heat from earths lava, messed up axis which created a daily temp of 100+ C, & a dash of acid rain which created enough nutrients for the skelital stucture to keep living decades past their death. Things that make you go hmmmm.. mainly my theories. ;D

In Dark Ages we live. In Kansas on biology lessons they teach religion and you Quorth are doing the same with chronology accusing me like an Inquisitor for the fact that I am consistent with the logic of calendar and math but you just love round numbers so you'll bend the obvious facts just to fit your convenience like a communist.

70's and 80's are great but I voted for 90's just to give that decade at least one vote it deserves. Just for Leon the Proffesional (1994) my No 1 Flick.

Hey man, don't call me a commie--I hate commies. They're worse than Nazis. And any American school too stupid to teach evolution is failing our children and cheating them of intelligence and valuable knowledge of our past. There are just two camps of people about the "millenium" thing, and I'm of the group that is happy with the year 2000 being the beginning of the new millenium. For me, the first one only missed a year. Not that it all matters anyway--time is an invention of man. Every day is a new year from one year ago--I barely even celebrate New Years. I didn't last year and won't this year--won't want to wake my baby, y'know, he'll be sleeping by the time the new year hits. If the ancient people just weren't smart enough to start with zero, I'm not going to let it bother me. And since man invented the concept of the calendar, the millenium isn't any big deal--every day is also the start of a new millenium from the one 1000 years prior.

It is. January 1st 2000 Thats one day old. January 1st 2001 Thats one year old. When your kid was born, he/she wasn't immediately 1 year old right?

Notice the plural? 70's = more than one. 1970 = is just that. If Leon: The Proffesional was made in 1990, technically, you'd say it was made in the 90's because you'd rather say Nineties than Nineteen Ninety. A quicker reference to acknowledge the fact that someone else knows what you are saying. ;D

And since man invented the concept of the calendar, the millenium isn't any big deal--every day is also the start of a new millenium from the one 1000 years prior. I didn't call you a commie I just said that in one particular situation you behaved LIKE a commie. That's a big and crucial difference. I think I don't have to say aloud that no insult was intended. But anyway if you feel offended I do apologise. Yes, you are right both you and Term in one point that there two camps engaged in that 2000 controversy. You are right also that the calendar was devised by people but: 1) Millenium is to last 1000 years, century to last 100 and a decade 10 full years not 999, or 99 or 9 as you want it; 2) It is of minor importance but it shows the inner unconscious and intriguing part of human - people because of the way our mind works tend to look for order, pattern, and the tendency to love round numbers is the sign of that phenomenon; 3) You all are intelligent enough to know that you can't question basic math rules like the equation 2+2 = 4 You have the full right to say that it is 5 or 1 or any other random number but whatever you say and whatever ideology you devise it will always be 4 and the same is with the calendar. It is not my fault that was constucted in this way but we are using it and the rules governing it are crystal clear. Voting such matters will be pure commie, irrational thing like in 1984 by Orwell. 4) You can always defy that calendar and use one of your own with other sets of rules with a 0 year and then I will pay homage to your Holinesses ;D 5)You use plain scholastics against me - you don't have any arguments, you don't want to know whether you're right or wrong you're just have your own BELIEF and want to justify it in any way, you just have a DOGMA and seek anything to prove it and not to TEST it.
