I wanna say Seven, but I can't recall a piano scene. But I'm still gonna guess Seven....with Brad Pitt or Morgan Freeman as the actor in question.

It's more recent than Se7en... and it's more of a traditional Film Noir style.

Bartwald got it. It was indeed, the Man Who Wasn't There... Billy Bob Thornton faked an erection while watching Scarlett Johansson play piano. It actually works in terms of characterization, too.
