For 35--are you referring to the defensive "wall" that the French built post WWI to defend against another German invasion? Which failed because the Germans simply went around the whole thing and invaded through another country? Luxembourg, was it? Not a shot was fired from that defensive fortifacation. If you ask about the meaning of a phrase "Maginot Line " it is indeed what you wrote above. But phony, funny, sitting, strange war has nothing to do with the French campaign in 1940. Remember, I ask about September 1939.

24. Did witch hunting in Europe's Middle Ages have any kind of bearing on the expansion of the bubonic plague, or Black Death? You may claim you kicked my butts here or give me further hint It's up to you, Sir ;D28. Prior to actually having real power in Germany, Hitler led a group of Stormtroopers in a failed attempt to overthrow the existing government. What occurrence, from that day, gave incredible power--and mystical strength--to the growing Nazi party? I thought and thought and thought... and I am still nowwhere... you said the occurrence that happened that particular day of 1923 in Munich. So it can't be his Version of a Bible (Mein Kampf) which he wrote in prison he served afterwards The only Jesus Christ event was that he threatened to commit suicide if his political opponents he took into hostage won't join him. But was that it [glow=violet,2,300]If you mean these questions I'm waiting for hints [/glow]

For #24: I'm looking for a link between witch-hunting, rats, cats, and plague....
For #28: Hitler once led a minor revolt to overthrow the government--what happened that looked like failure, but Hitler used to garner more power?
I hope those hints help!

Alrighty then, back to the Quiz Show!! For #24: I'm looking for a link between witch-hunting, rats, cats, and plague.... Good hint, now I got it finally: Beacause of Black Death many were persecuted: first Jews in a usual routine then witchhunt intensified. Things became so absurd that even domestic cats were burned at the stake, which produced even more rats. During the Dark Ages the cat became an outcast. Cats never quite lost the supernatural, pagan reputation they had acquired in Egypt. There are horror stories by the dozen of cats - hundreds and thousands of them - being burned, flayed, crucified, and thrown from the tops of towers, usually under the auspices of the Church. The Less cats the More rats and More plague.
Those who had sometimes literally risked their lives to keep cats now came into their own; their homes and farms were relatively free from rats. Gradually the authorities saw the light and ended the persecution. You directed my attention to wiches alone and I forgot about thier little black furry friends ;D Now I saw the light of reason.
For #28: Hitler once led a minor revolt to overthrow the government--what happened that looked like failure, but Hitler used to garner more power? I'm still thinking...what about one more tiny hint. I've read about Hitler and this putch a lot and I haven't found anything new. I still know what I already knew. If it's not suicide threat and not My Kampf what it can be?I hope those hints help!

During that revolt, several Nazi "soldiers" were killed. Now it's been so long, I've forgotton how many there were. I think it was either 8 or 16.
I don't know what kind of hint to say that won't give the answer away, so here it is:
The men that died in that failed revolt (wherein Hitler was captured and jailed and wrote Mein Kampf) were eventually turned into heroes and martyrs by Hitler--now it could be said that the Nazi party's ideals were so important that men were willing to die for them. Those martyrs, and a flag from the revolt, gave a mystical power to the Nazis that aided greatly in their growth and for attaining power.

Hey Spacer, I have to ask you about something:
Have you heard about the recent discovery of a "pyramid" in Bosnia? They claim it to be 12,000 years old and I think that's jumping the gun a little. That makes it something like 5-7,000 years older than Egypt's pyramids which I find a little hard to swallow. I wanted to know what you've heard about it all and what you think about it!

I haven't heard of it. But I investigated the event. I checked the news, site, info, who's interested in it, who's writing about it and the background of the guy Well results are not shocking ;D Here are some samples from his books: The artist did not use metal tools. Microscopic analysis revealed not a single scratch on the quartz which would have resulted from the use of such tools. [glow=red,2,300]The hardness of the crystal (Moh factor 7) was such that not even most modern tools would be able to scratch the surface of the crystal. [/glow]From today’s perspective the only way the [glow=red,2,300]crystal could have been carved was this: first the rough shape was made using a diamond tool.[/glow] Then the fine details and polishing would be done with multiple applications of fluid and crystal sand. Using this technology 300 years of continuous work would be required to produce such a perfect crystal skull. Common sense tells us there must be another answer. Either the ancient people had some more advanced techniques than those known to us today or they had some help from [glow=red,2,300]visitors from beyond this dimension or from “outer space”.[/glow] Or a combination of the above-mentioned alternatives.
Here I highlighted the certain language used and how he contradicts an argument said in sentence A by the very next sentence B in the next line.
Many cultures around the world, from India, Sumeria, Egypt, Peru, the Indians of North and Central America, the Inca and the Maya, call themselves the “Children of the Sun” or the “children of light.” [glow=red,2,300]Their ancestors, the civilizations of Atlantis and Lemuria[/glow], erected the first temples on [glow=red,2,300]energy potent point [/glow]of the Planet. Their most important function was to serve [glow=red,2,300]as a gateway to other worlds and dimensions. [/glow]
The pyramids erected on these energy potent locations enabled the Maya to be closer to the heavens and to other levels of consciousness.
The arrival of our solar system at the starting point toward the center of the Milky Way galaxy, when we will again be enlightened with bundles of energy… is something which was confirmed by modern astronomers about fifteen years ago. This could bring about a positive turnaround for our civilization. Advancement of DNA may raise us to a higher level.
When the “heavens open” and cosmic energy is allowed to flow throughout our tiny Planet, will we be raised to a higher level by the vibrations… to overcome the age of darkness which has been oppressing us?
"Archaeological excavations near the surface have uncovered a part of a wall and fragments of steps," Here's the only true sentence among all said concerning this thing. With one reservation archelogical they weren't.
Conlusion: You're brainy and intelligent so you don't really need one but just to be proper ... Bunch of complete psedoscientific nonsence in the sauce of new age symbolism, Daniken, ufology and etc.... He obviously knew everything before he actually touched the dirt on these hills ;D Typical middle-ages scholastics. First to believe than try to use anything to prove the believed theses. To add he raises funds online for his "excavations" ;D

You're talking about the guy that discovered the Bosnian pyramid, right?
Supposedly, and I heard this from another person, he believes that an ancient race akin to the Atlantians or Lemurians called, I believe, the Illyarians (something like that) built this pyramid in Bosnia.

Yes, I'm talking about this guy but he didn't discover anything interesting. I've browsed one of his books which was in English, others are in Serbo-Croatian. He strongly believes in so called ancient civilizations which were supposedly to flourish during as you yourself found out stone-age. I've met such a believer (they should be called such not scientists) and he told us (not only me) about nuclear wars between "developed civilizations like Atlantis" in the stone age ;D In his books there a lot of speculations about all kind of stuff, just a classical clinical example of a crap believer who says that everything he says was already "proved by scientists". I don't ban anyone from beliveing in whatever one wants but I really hate when someone says something ludicrous e.g.: It was proved that the Sun will become a Supernova or a Neutron star in the future... blah...blah..." and props it up with science.
Let the science be science and the pseudoscience be the personal unsupported belief.
Well to be frank the hole idea of this so called pyramid originated not even int he mind of this charlatan but the local people used to call these hills pyramids cause they resembled them to them.

I think the biggest problem with this whole pyramid thing is the theoretical age of 12,000 years old--that places the "pyramid's" creation roughly in the last ice age. How long did the last ice age last?
I think it would be fantastic if an ancient civillization lived 27,000 years ago (I read that this guy believes a civillization that old built the thing), but you'd think there'd be some remains somewhere of such a fantastic place....

No, the biggest problem is that there is not any pyramid there ;D Any other speculation is futile here.
