I'd have to go with the Bourne Supremacy, because the Bourne Identity was awesome.
As for Catwoman, it looks like crap... But I will most DEFINITELY be seeing it. (Halle Berry... Two piece leather outfit... whip...)

My impressions on both movies can be found on my website. Hey, I didn't know you did impressions! Badda-ching!! ;D Thank you, I'll be here all week! Try the buffet! Oh, and I'll definitely see BOURNE SUPREMACY before I see CRAPWOMAN. I like Halle. And I like Halle in skin tight leather. But there is no way I can justify paying "real" money to see this train wreck. Wooooh-eeee!! Bombs awaaayyy!!!

Having just seen the Bourne Supremacy, I have this to say.
THE BOURNE SUPREMACY: Jason Bourne Reigns Supreme.
PLOT - 10/10 Beautiful tale of murder, revenge, and once again, identity.
ACTING - 10/10 Matt Damon, as usual, was excellent. Props also go to Julia Stiles, who before this movie, I had no idea could act.
SCREENWRITING - 10/10 I'd say this is almost a shoe-in for a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar nomination. Very well-written.
DIRECTION - 10/10 Fear not the change in director, for Mr. Greengrass does NOT disappoint.
VISUALS - 10/10 Breathtaking action sequences, beautiful cinematography, nice camera work, and the best damn car chase since the Matrix Reloaded.
MUSIC - 10/10 Very appropriate, very exciting. The music added a rush of adrenalin to the movie.
OVERALL Terminator 2. The Matrix Reloaded. Aliens. The Godfather: Part II. X2. The Empire Strikes Back. Now, the Bourne Supremacy is among the list of sequels that have one-upped their predecessors. While the Bourne Identity WAS indeed very good, the Bourne Supremacy was MUCH more exciting, MUCH more interesting, and overall, was MUCH better. Without a shadow of a doubt, the Bourne Supremacy is one of the best films of 2004.
THE SMITTY APPROVES. (10/10)

Just saw Catwoman.
Catwoman: Mo' Like WACKwoman
PLOT - 7/10 The whole mythology of Catwoman is very good, and apparently, they were supposed to go with it.
ACTING - 5/10 Contrary to popular belief, Halle Berry was right for the role. She was excellent. But the sad thing is, a good actress can only do so much with a bad script. Sharon Stone was AWFUL. The best part of the movie was Alex Borstein, of Mad TV fame.
SCREENWRITING - 1/10 Oh my GOD. This belongs on MST3K. They concocted the WORST comic book movie villain ever.
DIRECTION - 0/10 At least we see now what happens when a French director with one name is allowed to direct a comic book movie. Go to Hell, Pitof.
VISUALS - 5/10 A mixture of really nice and terrible. Halle Berry's costume is nice, but the CGI is overused and TERRIBLE. Decent action sequences, marred by extremely crappy CGI. Even the cat that revives Patience is CGI. Why couldn't they use a real cat? WHY?
MUSIC - 0/10 OH MY GOD, I'd rather put a hot poker to my ears. It really ruins the feel of the whole movie.
OVERALL As of July 23rd, 2004, when people think about comic book movie shame, they're gonna think about this, and THEN Batman and Robin. Stay away, unless you want to eyeball Halle Berry for a couple hours... Even then, I'd suggest Monster's Ball instead.
THE SMITTY DOES NOT APPROVE. (3/10)

Having just seen the Bourne Supremacy, I have this to say. Using the "Smitty Method". THE BOURNE SUPREMACY: Jason Bourne is almost defeated by poor camera work. PLOT - 7/10 Slightly above average tale of murder, revenge, and once again, identity. ACTING - 8/10 The acting was fine. No Oscars, but no complaints either. SCREENWRITING - 7/10 Nothing too embarassing here. DIRECTION - 2/10 Here's where things are gonna get ugly. This director, Paul Greengrass sucks! Why did he feel the need to shoot pretty much the entire movie with the "shaky cam" effect? There was some great stuff on screen, but it's too bad you're trying so hard to focus on it half the time because Dumbass, I mean Greengrass, doesn't know how to use a tripod once in a while. This was really disappointing. And apparently, I'm not the only one complaining. Check out the thread at imdb.com for this movie titled "Paul Greengrass for Worst Director!" imdb.com/title/tt0372183/board/nest/10314492 There's a whole slew of people bitching about the camera work in this movie. It really is headache inducing. VISUALS - 8/10 Good action sequences, especially the car chase, but too bad about the "shaky cam". It would've been nice to be able to tell what was happening on screen ALL of the time! MUSIC - ? Whatever. Didn't really notice. OVERALL Good for a sequel, but nothing spectacular. The first one was a lot more involving and tension filled. But most importantly, it didn't have the craptacular directing "talents" of Paul Greengrass. I hope the original director, Doug Liman, comes back for the third one. I like the character of Jason Bourne and wouldn't mind seeing further adventures, but I can do without this director. Take some Drammamine before buying a ticket. HEINEKEN APPROVES. (But only mildly.) (6/10)

See, I liked the camera work. It made me feel closer to the action in a way. It's hard to explain, but I can also see why someone wouldn't like it.

Spielberg used hand-held cameras during certain scenes in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and also made you feel like you were closer to the action, but he also knew when to back off and just tell the story. Greengrass acted like a kid with a new toy. The "shaky cam" was also used in BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, but it made sense there, as the characters in the movie were actually filming the movie with hand-held cameras. But even they would settle down from time to time. It was really annoying and, I felt, unnecessary in "BOURNE...". There is no need to have the camera whizzing by and zooming in and out when characters are just speaking to each other. And it just made things confusing during the action scenes.

My wife saw it with me and she thought the camera worked kinda sucked too. And on the imdb thread, except for a couple of supporters, so did a bunch of other people. So, there ya go. Difference of opinion.

but with an 8.0/8.1 rating, they MUST be doing SOMETHING right...
IMDb users will always complain. Look at all those users on the Godfather/Citizen Kane/Shawshank Redemption/Schindler's List/Insert Great Movie Title here boards who complain about how overrated the movies are. All the people complaining how the Matrix is a ripoff of Dark City (when in fact, neither movie is original). There will never be 100% agreement on a movie, no matter how great it is.
When it comes to direction, it just depends on what your tastes are. I personally liked it. Some people didn't, and I can understand why. So, for THAT case, I'd say agree to disagree. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
