...if you're a U.S. citizen of voting age, you need to get your ass to a voting booth come November. And that's as political as I'm gonna get. Promise. Well, I never caught you in such a political mood before, Heineken! Good heavens, what this Michael Moore does to people! But since you guys are so crazy about Fahrenheit 9/11 I'll maybe see it after all. Still no release date for The Notebook in Poland.

I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 again with some friends, two of which were Republican. I'm not surprised, they didn't like it. It's not likely to change minds.
This is why I hate political parties. We can't have open-minded decisions about who's the better candidate, it all boils down to the candidate's political affiliation. I think that's bullshit. Bush never should have stood a chance.
Whether you're liberal or conservative has little to do with the candidate's competence. I believe Moore did an excellent job exposing our president's incompetence. Sure, conservatives don't see it. Not saying anything against conservatives; it's human nature not to want to be wrong. But think about it. Do you REALLY want someone like HIM representing you? I think Bush gives conservatives a bad name.
Of course, I decided NOT to discuss this with my friends, politics is a sensitive subject. They are open-minded people, and soon I'm going to point out that even though they DISAGREE with what Moore had to say, they have to admit there were some DAMN good filmmaking qualities involved.

I just got finished watching Two Brothers. Let me tell you, that is an excellent movie. A movie that proves once and for all that animals CAN act. I'd definitely recommend it.

Well, I never caught you in such a political mood before, Heineken! Good heavens, what this Michael Moore does to people! Well, to be honest I actually felt that way before Moore's movie. I've been voting since 1984 and feel that people should vote, and those that don't have no right to complain. The movie just proves things that a lot of us already suspected. How unprepared Bush was for 9/11, even though there were warnings, how badly his administration handled the situation, and that Bush (Sr. and Jr.), Vice President Cheney and several others in our government are basically "in bed" with the enemy due to all of their business dealings with the Saudis. It's pretty sickening really.

I have a question...I haven't seen the movie yet, but someone was telling me that in some parts it looked like words had been dubbed over what Bush what actually saying. Did any of you notice this or was the person who told me just hallucinating? Or maybe it was just that the sound just wasn't matched up right w/ the film, like happens sometimes.

Maybe the sound wasn't synched up in the theater your friend was seeing it in, but everything looked just fine to me at my showing. Your friend was probably just noticing all the 'double talk' that goes on in the Bush administration. ;D

Now THIS is pathetic. www.imdb.com/title/tt0411646/WHINING about someone else's opinion... how immature is that? Come on, now. Since when does "dislikes Bush" = "hates America"? Grow up, you conservative baby, and accept the fact that not everybody is going to agree with you; even if they have the funding and resources to make a movie that is most likely better than yours.

Saw Farenheit 9/11 yesterday....and I'm really depressed now. It's like Heineken said, I laughed, I cried & I got really pissed off. I've never been really big into politics, so I really didn't know about all the stuff that went on. Just snippets from the news & such. Before I go on, I should say that I didn't vote in the last election, so I'm one of those who don't have a right to complain. But I'm not complaining, it's more of one of those 'looking-on-in-horror' kinda things. I'm just totally shocked at the things the movie revealed. It's just really scary that these people are representing us. Esp. the part where the big guys don't read most of the bills that they sign. WTF?? Isn't that what they're there for? And this excuse about taking too much time to read every bill that's submitted? Excuse me? Isn't that your JOB?? OMG, it's just unreal. This film just makes me have even less faith in the government than I already had, but if one good thing does come out of it, it's that I will damn sure be voting in the next election! And hopefullly the film will motivate more people to do so.

You guys made me want to see this even though I hated most of Bowling For Columbine! Sad fact: it opens this Friday so I won't be able to see it before coming back from the trip. And will they still play it then? - now that is a scary question!

I just saw Fahrenheit 9/11, and let me tell you, that is one brilliant, sobering movie. One of the most important movies ever released, and everyone should take a look at it with an open mind. The audience in the theater APPLAUDED the movie. How often do you see an audience applaud a movie? I saw it yesterday. After it ended one guy stood up and started applauding; no one else did but there were only about thrity people at the theatre... however, after his clapping quietened a woman stood up, shook her head in disapproval and said "You guys don't know how manipulated YOU are - by Moore". And you know what? I can understand both sides. The movie was very well done (superb editing and soundtrack) and truly entertaining, but please don't tell me Moore wasn't bending some of the facts to fit his theories: where was Poland, for instance, when he was talking about the coalition countries, huh? The same fact-bending thing I noticed while watching Bowling For Culumbine and some of the same annoying "heart-breaking" techniques he used there he uses here once again: the soldier's letters, the woman going to the White House to let out her grief... these are all touching parts but including them in the movie is following the easiest path and I really do not like it; even if Moore wants to play on our emotions he should do it in some more sophisticated way if he wants to be called a serious filmmaker (and seeing him in Cannes I think he does). Don't get me wrong though: I like Fahrenheit 9/11, it is an important piece, but I just think an equally good documentary could now be done to show all the holes in Moore's theories.
