What is the best concert DVD? You know, the ones that capture a performance from some band, and might have other things like music videos and whatnot? Well, what's your favorite.
Mine would have to be the Pixies one I have. But that might just be because I'm really into them right now. They're a great band live, looking at the footage.

My favourite is still Music Of Mass Destruction by Anthrax: a great concert plus some interesting additional stuff; you may check out my review of it in Power To The Music section for further detail.
I'm planning to buy the Rush DVD soon, so if my favourite changes after that - I'll let you know. From what I heard so far it seems great.

One of my favorites is the Led Zeppelin DVD that was released in 2003. It's actually a compilation of different concert performances, but it's fantastic. And it has DTS sound which sounds amazing! Looks and sounds like it was recorded recently. A must have for any Zeppelin fan.

Zeppelin is definitely a good one. My favorite & most watched is Metallica's 2-Disc S&M. They actually had to perform on key with the entire symphony so the result is Metallica's best live performance. I also like the audio options. The 5.1 is really good with both S&M or you can listen to either the symphony only & Metallica only in dolby digital 2.0.

I'd have to go with Pearl Jam Live at The Garden...that one gets frequent viewing around here. But that Zep one is great too, my brother has it & I borrow it from him all the time. Just seeing Bonham doing Moby Dick is worth price. He is truly a god... Another good one is Queensryche:Operation Live Crime, I think that's what it's called. I haven't watched it in a while, but when it came out we wore the tape out watching it. I need to pick up the dvd.

I never liked Zepps enough to buy their DVD's. I guess it's usually that you either like Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd or Deep Purple - just one of these and fanatically so. It's Deep Purple for me. And their new version of Concerto For A Group And Orchestra (with Ronnie James Dio among others) is a killer.

Well, I like both Zep & the Floyd fanatically, so I guess I'm not the norm. But I think we've all figured that out already.

Ah, I'm so alone with my monogamous love towards Deep Purple.

Monogamous, yes. I can't love just one band. But I do like Deep Purple as well. Even saw them in concert in the mid to late eighties when they were touring in support of their "comeback" album "Perfect Strangers". That was a great show!

Wish I could see them back then! The concert that I saw was in support of their "second comeback" album, The Battle Rages On; a very good one too, of course.

- Rush In Rio is GREAT! Just three guys and such wonderful monstrosity of a performance! My fave concert DVD together with Anthrax's Music Of Mass Destruction!
- Live Encounters by Deep Purple is not bad, either - but a disappointment; Gillan obviously had some vocal problems back then.
I'm now planning to buy The History Of Iron Maiden Vol. 1; anyone saw it already?
