Well, we did crappiest live bands, so we might as well do the best.
Mine is Barenaked Ladies, both times I've seen them. They are among the best performers around these days. They remix their songs live, do improv raps, and have such ease and charisma on stage that it's impossible not to enjoy them. What's cool about their shows is that they don't just play songs from their albums, they mix in hits with more unknown tracks and some completely unreleased tracks.
They also record and sell full recordings of all of their concerts online, so you can get a cheap high quality copy of any concert you've been to.
Ben Folds was also awesome live. Recently he's started playing a piano version of "Bitches Ain't Shit" by Dr. Dre. It's hilarious.

My first show, consisting of Megadeth, was awesome.
Best band, all others considered, that I've seen live...?
Hypocrisy was awesome. Danzig was great.
I guess I should come back to this after January when I'll be seeing Thyrfing covered in pig's blood perform some excellent Viking Metal for us...
That last Slayer show I saw was great, too. When they toured with In Flames and Soulfly.

Aerosmith was pretty cool.
I don't see many shows. Hoping to see Radiohead though next time they come around.

I'd probably say Cannibal Corpse put on a hell of a show. Of course, that was the first, and thus far, only concert I've ever been to, so... I do have shitloads of live DVD, but that doesnt mean anything.

I don't think I can pick just one, but some of the best I've seen live were: KISS (Have seen them close to 10 times) Aerosmith (Almost as many times as KISS) The Rolling Stones (Steel Wheels Tour) Alice in Chains (2x, RIP, Layne Staley) Alice Cooper (Multiple times) Elton John & Billy Joel (Separate tours & together on the Piano Men Tour) Judas Priest (3x) Iron Maiden (Powerslave Tour) Metallica (And Justice For All Tour and about 4 other times, including once with late bassist Cliff Burton, RIP) Pearl Jam (3x) INXS (Kick Tour, RIP Michael Hutchence) Robert Plant & Jimmy Page (Awesome "almost" Zeppelin reunion) Ozzfest (2x) (Once with Megadeth & Tool as part of the lineup, once with Disturbed, Marilyn Manson & Korn as part of the lineup.) David Bowie (3x)
Way too many more, but those are some standouts....

Did you see Priest with Halford or Ripper? Sorry dude, just saw this question. Only saw them with Halford, never with Ripper. On the Defenders of the Faith, Turbo & Ram it Down tours.

I only saw them with The Ripper on the Demolition tour. $30 per ticket. Earlier this year, they came through here with Halford and I couldn't wait to go. Then the $70/ticket hit me, and I saw nothing.
