jos - now, THIS is scary! Xentrix was another band I wanted to put here!!! For Whose Advantage? (1990) is my favourite Xentrix album BUT I haven't listened to all of them yet (their last one - Scourge (1996) - is mystery to me); good, inventive thrash that is quite close to what the Metallica guys were doing but, to me, Xentrix was always better. And even their next-to-last album, Kin (1992), that was an almost mirror-image of The Black Album was still pretty strong and I listen to it often (while I don't even HAVE Metallica's Black). Quorth, slayrrr - you should like the band, I think! What's your fave of theirs, jos?

Dominus and Winter are, sadly, names I'm not familiar with. Haven't heard Xentrix's Ghostbusters, either - it was only released on an EP, wasn't it? And - is Scourge worth trying to get? F5's website is right here - www.f5theband.com/ - and I know they used to have some mp3's with their stuff there, not sure if it's still like that.

Okay, listened to these!
Ghostbusters is pretty great - except, perhaps, it could have been longer. Scourge sounds interesting but at 1 minute+ it doesn't have time to show its true teeth, I guess. Will see if I can find the album. Thanks again!

What about Type O Negative? Haven't heard anything from them lately... They put on a helluva show in concert though.

Oh, I think they're still around.
As long as there are goth kids, there'll be Type O.
They were just on tour a couple years ago. Friend of mine went to see 'em.

I never enjoyed Type O too much. Peter Steele frightens me. No, seriously. I'd rather listen to Rob Zombie all the time.

I never liked the Goth Rock scene either. Type O never appealed to me at all.
Bart, that Xentrix band will get a listen to. Any recs for albums?

slayrrr - I'd say For Whose Advantage or Kin are two good ones to start with. Classic Xentrix style there.

No problem at all. I'm very interested in your opinion on their music.

As I said, I'll give them a look see. Any band that calls itself a thrash band gets me interested in them.

They were just on tour a couple years ago. Friend of mine went to see 'em. I think they were opening for Ozzy when I saw them...that's been a few years ago though. Good show.

Peter Steele frightens me. He's frightening...but he's very pretty.

Peter Steele frightens me. He's frightening...but he's very pretty. Oh god, you... you have that Playgirl don't you...? (Before Type O, Peter Steele had a Thrash Metal act called Carnivore--which is pretty good stuff, although crude.)
