It can be either Metal or whatever else is out there . My first ever album was The Number Of The Beast by some small time band that the chances are none of you will ever have heard of, Iron Maiden LOL. After that it was Spreading The Disease by Anthrax.

It depends. When I got interested in music there were NO original tapes or albums in Poland. No shit: you had to go abroad to buy anything official. My first buys were the pirate tapes of: Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Killers - both by Iron Maiden My first ORIGINAL tapes were: Live by Nuclear Assault Set The World On Fire by Annihilator And my first two ORIGINAL CD's were: Blazon Stone by Running Wild Spreading The Disease by Anthrax There - now you know me!

The first cassette I ever owned, keep in mind this was GIVEN to me as a Christmas present, I didn't buy it, was Michael Jackson's Thriller. The first cassette I remember ever buying was Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet. So go ahead, start making fun of me...I'm waiting for the jokes. ;D Can't say as I'm much into Jackson anymore, but I still love Bon Jovi.

Expect no jokes from me then, LDG... I knew I could count on you Bart.. The only vinyl I remember owning is Duran Duran's "Rio" & "Seven and the Ragged Tiger". I think I still have them around here somewhere. My brother has an ass-load of vinyl though. Mostly Pink Floyd... and some Pearl Jam too.

I was very fond of vinyl albums once - the huge covers look just great, don't they? But then I left a bunch of my favourite ones near a window on a hot summer day and they melted in the sun. I decided to move with the times then and started buying CD's...

I still have a shitload of vinyl albums. Just nothing to play them on anymore. My first two vinyl records were a late 70's compilation album with a bunch of different rock bands on it, can't remember the name anymore, and the second was AC/DC's "BACK IN BLACK". When I decided to stop buying vinyl and get into CDs, my very first CD was Ozzy Osbourne's "DIARY OF A MADMAN", a metal masterpiece.

My dad has a ton of vinyl stuff. Some of it good, like Electric Light Orchestra, and others I was like, "Come on, man!" That would be Michael Jackson.
I remember the first album I ever bought because I still have it! The Jurassic Park soundtrack.
Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up.
I don't remember the next thing I bought. Maybe Toy Story soundtrack.

Okay okay, you all are aware that I'm all KING SHIT HYPER-WIKKED GR1M KVLT NEKRO UNDERGROUND METALHEAD EXTREMO here so laugh it up when you realize my first album purchase was:
Weird Al Yankovic's Alapalooza. Oh dear me...
When I found the music I truly love, however, my first two were both AC/DC: Back in Black and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.
First Megadeth: Hidden Treasures First Anthrax: Live the Island Years (such a bad recording that it put me off Anthrax for 3 years!) First OverKill: Under the Influence (tape in a used bin) First Metallica (who I loathe now): Load & Ride the Lightning First Iron Maiden: The X Factor (then I found the better older stuff) First Judas Priest: Jugulator followed by Painkiller First Hypocrisy: Catch-22 First Amon Amarth: Once Sent From Golden Hall First Slayer: Seasons in the Abyss First Death: Symbolic First In Flames: Clayman First Manowar: Louder than Hell First Danzig: 4p First Alice Cooper: School's Out First Black Sabbath: Paranoid First The Crown: Hell is Here First Grip Inc.: The Power of Inner Strength First Pantera: The Great Southern Trendkill
That's right people, for no apparent reason at all--I remember all this shit. And that's what it's like to be obsessive compulsive! Hooray!

First Metallica (who I loathe now): Load & Ride the Lightning I used to be into Metallica, too. But I kinda outgrew them more than anything, I can't listen now because it hurts my head. But I'm curious to know what brought about your hatred?

First Metallica (who I loathe now): Load & Ride the Lightning I used to be into Metallica, too. But I kinda outgrew them more than anything, I can't listen now because it hurts my head. But I'm curious to know what brought about your hatred? When I realized the depths of their selling-out and greed. Plus, St. Anger has got to be some of the worst "music" I've ever heard. I guess, their near-constant MTV presence, lackluster, largely unoriginal videos ("We're only going to do a video if we can do something different, something never seen before." No one's ever seen a band playing at a staged party before...), and their attack on MP3 trading. Who makes more money in the music world than Metallica and Eminem? But oh no, a couple downloading a couple of their songs is causing them to lose soooooooooo much money. Fah! Plus, no "Metal" band should ever tour with... who was it? Jay-Z? How well do they know their fans? Not at all? James Hetfield's growing ego (turning into Axl Rose), Lar$ money lust, and their mistreatment of Jason--the most Metal person in the band. So it was apparently a lot of things... How 'bout that?

Yeah. When I hear them talk about Metallica now, I'm just like, "Eh." I did like Cliff Burton though.
And they toured with Jay-Z? What the hell?

Metallica is still ok in my books. I'm talkin' about their black album & all previous ones before. "load" had a few good songs, "reload" had one good song & their latest album has 2 good songs.
They are much older now & have families, so this "new" direction (or whatever you want to call it) we are hearing is a result of a "sober" Metallica.
So in their latest documentary, or was it MTV-Icon? Anyway, James says a fan came up to him & spit on him saying "You sold out, You said you'd never make a video man!" refering to the "one" video obviously. That, I just don't get. I like seeing their live stuff more than their music videos + their 2 part documentary was cool. Better than the last imo. I agree with them on their attack on Napster sp? Downloading songs on the internet, is the same as downloading a movie in my opinion.. but that issue doesn't seem to matter anymore sinse their is an extra "tax" now on cd-r's that go to the record companies + fees you pay for downloading music like I-pod.
Ask yourself this: If George Lucas tried to stand behind his films by fighting those who bootleg it off the internet, would you boycott Lucas?
Hmm.. my first 2 albums huh? ok
The Police: Every Breath You Take Huey Lewis & the News - one of their first albums in the 80's
My first 2 cds I remember;
Scorpions: Crazy & Savage World Poison umm.. forget the name of..
