So I was at the record store planning on getting the Velvet Underground record based off a friend's opinion and I got mixed up and almost bought Velvet Revolver (a band I cannot stand). So this sparked an idea, which "velvet" band is better?
I went with Underground, because, well, I like them a lot better than Revolver. Their music is more put together (and featured in Wes Anderson films).

Velvet Revolver I like. Velvet Underground I don't know much about. So I guess it wouldn't be right for me to vote here?

Overall, I would have to say Velvet Revolver.
I prefer Lou Reed solo to Velvet Underground.
I also prefer Guns N' Roses & Stone Temple Pilots to Velvet Revolver.

It seems my parents and Uncle Guy love Guns N' Roses.
My other Uncle Perry likes Stone Temple Pilots.

Velvet underground a bit crap without the surrounding "happenings" and Andy Warhol's art aesthetic. They were never all about the music, anyway.
Velvet Revolver put on a great live show and have one of the best guitarists of all time. No contest.
