Tonight, we're planning on a 2 or 3 movie line-up before my kid arrives, and after he goes to bed. Last night, I played Manhunt 2 for the Wii for about two and a half hours. Not scary like the GameCube remake of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 4, or Eternal Darkness, but still dank, gory, gruesome fun.
I just wish the goddamn ESRB hadn't forced Rockstar to censor the executions. Wii controls are just excellent.

Curse of the Living Corpse is a halfway decent early-slasher that tries to pass itself off as a Gothic horror where a phobic millionaire dies and in his will, determines a set of tasks for how his heirs will inherit his money. If they fail, he will return from the grave to exact revenge based upon their deepest, darkest fears. Since they fail, guess what happens. It's not bad, but it really is forgettable, especially compared to what Roger Corman, Vincent Price, Hammer and Mario Bava where doing at the same time with similar stories. Gravedancers follows a group of friends who gather at a funeral for an old friend, and after a round of drunken debauchery on a row of gravestones, find themselves haunted by supernatural spirits, which even a team of paranormal investigators can't handle. I don't want to give away more, as this one is actually worth seeing. Try to find it. Yeah, what slayrr said! Thanks for the synopsis. I haven't been on here in a few days b/c of work & movie-watching so I couldn't reply. No problem. ;D

And finally, ON Halloween:
6. CARRIE (1976) 10/31/07 * 7. THE THING (1982) 10/31/07 *
And there's my Halloween viewing for 2007. A pretty good mix of classic and modern and different types of horror. Wanted to see a lot more, never got around to "The Exorcist" or "Halloween" for instance, but just couldn't find the time.

Around the Halloween night I watched the following:
- Rise (a sexy vampire movie with Lucy Liu that, unfortunately, falls apart somewhere in the middle; 5/10), - The Eye (a decent, unsettling offering from the Pang Bros. - never saw this one before; 7/10), - Terror Lodge aka Tryst (utter trash that fails to be either scary or sexy; 1/10).

Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon What did you think of that? We watched Oldboy, a Korean "horror" flick. It wasn't exactly a horror film as much as it was a story one would expect from classic Twilight Zone or Outer Limits. It was strange, but good. Extremely high production values, very classy, excellent music. Also, Citizen X, which was a pretty good film, but also not exactly a horror flick. It's about the hunt for Russia's most notorious serial killer and the bureaucratic nightmare of dealing with officials behind the Iron Curtain. For instance, they didn't want to publicize the incident because they believed serial killers were a phenomenon of "decadent western societies." Fun stufff.

Ah, so you too have been subjected to that mess. Crawford herself said that if she weren't a Christian, she would've killed herself because of how bad it was, and I believe her.
