There's a remake of Pulse coming out soon, frank. I don't know the date, I don't care to, but there is one. I've seen the previews for it. That's a remake of the Japanese film "Kairo," not the 1988 American film. And that film is being rerated from R to PG-13. I had tickets to go to a prescreen, but I had baseball that night. And I love baseball, so you get the picture.

Rob Zombie is in the process of re-imagining (not remaking, he calls it re-imagining) Halloween. I read his interview, and frankly I'm just not that pissed. It might be good. The Devil's Rejects was impressive, and he has John Carpenter's blessing. You can read the interview for yourself here: www.halloweenmovies.com/

Just look at "Batman Begins." Not everyone was pissed at that one.

Until I know more about what he wants to do with this one, I'm staying pretty skeptical about this one. The original, while a timeless classic in every sense, hasn't fared that well in repeating viewings for me. Now that I pretty much know the movie by now, it's suspense doesn't really register as much as it should. Especially since I liked the last three sequels as well (especially 6, my personal favorite in the series) and with my liking Resurrection and not really liking HoaTC and not seeing TDR, I'm still a little bit skeptical about this one. The blessing factor gives it a higher chance to be good, but I'm still not at the "This is the greatest thing in the world" phase yet. Time will tell for me.

I actually think that repeated viewings are better for "Halloween." The more I watch it, the more professional it looks.

I don't know, I guess I just want the kills to come along faster. To me, it doesn't hold up after repeated viewings. I'm always going to call it a classic, but I much prefer 6 in the series as a faster, more violent and more entertaining film.
Let's hope Rob makes his a lot faster and more violent than the original.

Remember, though, I'm not that much of a fan-boy of Zombie. Corpses wasn't that impressive, I still haven't seen TDR, and with the 50-50 reviews I've read on it, it will be a while before I will, as there are tons of others I want to see before that one.

Wow! I hadn't heard about this until now. Kewwwlll.... ;D Halloween has always been one of my faves so it'll be interesting to see Rob's take on it. It certainly can't be any worse than some of the other Halloween sequals that have been done. And TDR is pretty fast-paced & gets down to business fairly quickly so that shouldn't be a problem.

I prefer the sequels myself, and I just hope Rob can do it well.
