THE WILD BUNCH (1969)
Set just a few months before World War I, an aging band of outlaws is forced to flee to Mexico when a Texas bank robbery goes wrong. Hot on their tail is a gang of bounty hunters led by a former member who is now reformed. While in Mexico, they meet a violent Mexican general who hires them to rob a U.S. train carrying weapons.
Great performances all around starting with William Holden, Ernest Borgnine, and Warren Oates as members of the gang, and Robert Ryan and Strother Martin as two of their pursuers. The ending is a classic, violent bloodbath.

THE PROFESSIONALS (1966)
Burt Lancaster, Lee Marvin, Robert Ryan and Woody Strode are the title characters, four tough men-for-hire who is each a specialist in his own field. They are hired by a Millionaire to go into Mexico and bring back his wife, who has been kidnapped by a Mexican revolutionary (Jack Palance).
Good chemistry between the leads, and along the way, there's a decent body count and lots of things get blown up real good. Unfortunately, it gets a little "talky" in the second half, which is not what I wanted from this particular film, but overall, it's decent.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST (1969)
Sergio Leone's epic, starring Henry Fonda as Frank, the baddest, as in evil, character Fonda ever played, and Charles Bronson, as "Harmonica", (The only character in westerns who plays his own theme song.), a mysterious guy with a grudge against Frank. Also stars Jason Robards and the lovely Claudia Cardinale. Not to be missed.

That's all folks! Happy New Years!!
