Well, glad to hear you're still around Franken. While I'm here I might as well mention that Sybillness and I will be on vacation in Jamaica from Sept. 26 through Oct. 4. No idea how much or how little I'll be posting during that time, but I'm guessing probably not that much.

In case anyone has been wondering, here's a big part of why I haven't been around as often these days:
I'm a big fan of the following things that pretty much define me:
Metal Horror films Transformers Video Games
I go through them (and their various message boards) in cycles, typically. I've been going through a huge gaming resurgance lately even purchasing a Nintendo DS, Sega Genesis, and Atari 2600 so far this year, as well as games for my SNES, Saturn, Genesis, DS, Wii, GameCube, 2600, NES, and Game Boy (classic). Last year and earlier this year was mostly taken up by Transformers.
I haven't bought a new DVD in, probably, a month of two. The last thing I bought for myself was Shinobi III on the Genesis two days ago, and Contra III on the SNES a week ago.

Well, obviously I got back from Jamaica yesterday.
Sybillness and I had a blast. We stayed at one of those all-inclusive luxury resorts (1 price = airfare, hotel, meals, drinks, most on-site activities) and if you ever get the opportunity, I can't recommend it enough. Laying poolside, while the wait staff brings you rum drinks, or whatever it is you drink, is niiiice. Besides working on our tans, we ate fantastic food everyday, used the jacuzzi in our room, went to the on-site beach, and even got a couple's massage at the spa. We did leave the resort a few times. We took a tour of Black River on a river boat where we learned about all of the local vegetation and wildlife including the crocodiles in the river. We took a tour of the Appleton Rum distillery, the most famous rum in Jamaica, where not only did we learn about the rum making process, but were literally given all the samples we could drink. We visited Rick's Cafe, the most famous reggae bar in Jamaica and that was fun, but the topper as far as fun goes was the ATV tour we went on. ATV-ing through and around a citrus plantation. Lots of hills and mud. Anyway, I'm tanned, rested and ready to post! ;D

Well, for once I have great news: usually this is the time of the year that I'll be regaling you all with my sabatical to take in the yearly Halloween festivities, but this year, due to chance or the fact that this year seems to be just a conglomeration of all that have been shown already, I think I can still take in the marathons on TV while still keeping up here at the Board for the first time since I joined, and so therefore I'm going to honor the occasion by updating the reviews section daily with a classic that hasn't been updated yet, either a modern gem or an older one that should've been seen by all which will start tomorrow, so see you all on Halloween for once. ;D

Man, I'm glad I decided to stick around this Halloween, never before had I had a more entertain-less selection of films to watch. Nearly all the ones I wanted to watch for the first time are so lame they're not horror at all or I missed them all-together. I still have hopes as tonight begins some serious work with un-viewed Hammer and Amicus stuff coming on, but even still, I doubt I'll be able to catch up to a dozen new films this year, which is quite sad. I've rewatched more for the Movie Genre club than I have seen new films for the Halloween marathons.
