However, marvelous is just an opinion.
The general consensus is that Argento, MOH aside, isn't packing the one-two punch he used to. I'm not saying he's turned into a hack, but he can do better, I'm sure of it.

I get that sentiment, Frank, and considering what came out 71-89 (Bird with the Crystal Plummage, Cat O'Nine Tails, Four Flies on Grey Velvet, Deep Red, Suspiria, Inferno, Tenebre, Phenomena and The Opera) features a line-up of films most directors would sell their souls to call their own. The only real stinker is Cat O'Nine Tails, and that's a sleeper fave of mine anyway and not that terrible. It's like having a series of 9/10's or above and here comes a solid 8. Same style. Yet, most people seem to think that he should be able to recreate that magic and when he comes in with a 7.5 or an 8, people write him off when it's not that bad at all.

Yeah, I enjoyed Cat O'Nine Tails too.
I see what you're saying. However, I'm in no rush to see his newer movies. I've already got too many I need to see.

Now there's a real statement I agree with. You really should see my to-watch list.
