Hispanic guy & The Good Cop. I don't remember them being racists as I said above Almost every character (if not every speaking role) is a racist. Oh, yeah yah did. I just noticed that. I felt like defending the Hispanic dude. I liked him. The good cop was trying not to be racist, but he's the character I was referring to that had some "societal conditioning" that had a hold on him which overrode his anti-racist tendencies. If you've seen it, you know the scene I mean.

If I remember The Good Cops Officer in charge was a Black guy. His partner a racist. blah blah
The Hispanic guy was the only character I liked the most & felt Don Cheadle's charcater Graham Waters needed some defending as well.

Ok, I agree. Each event could happen. Each racist utter could happen. Whats ficticious to me is the ratio of racist to norm. Well yeah, I agree w/ you on that...they took just about every situation & roled it into one movie. In that aspect it's a little over done.

That part with the Hispanic guy's daughter is the part I can't watch. Man, that scene got to me too and I don't even have any kids. Well, my niece & nephew who are like my own. The scene w/ he & his daughter at the first of the movie, when she was hiding under the bed, was great too.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Racial drama "Crash," already shaping up as a major contender for the Oscars, led the films nominated on Tuesday by the nation's largest civil rights group, the NAACP, for its annual Image Awards. "Crash" and members of its multiracial ensemble cast garnered six nominations in all, including one for best film.
Four of the NAACP's five nominations for best supporting actor went to "Crash" co-stars Don Cheadle, Terrence Howard, Larenz Tate and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges. Thandie Newton landed a nod for best supporting actress in the film.

Finally saw this last night. Very good. Not perfect, but definitely worth seeing. Great performances all around, with Matt Dillon as the standout. He plays a good creep. Like Q and his son, because of our daughter, watching the scene with the locksmith, his daughter and the store owner was probably the toughest part of the movie to watch. I was able to guess some of the little twists the movie takes, and I knew it wasn't going to end well for at least one or two characters, but I have to admit that the ending still caught me off guard. Obviously, I figured the storyline regarding the store owner and the locksmith was going to end tragically, but didn't see the good cop and car thief confrontation coming. You do have to suspend disbelief a little in order to buy some of the coincidences that occur, but the movie is basically a fable set in the real world, so I guess those can be excused. 8/10

The win was--does this make sense?--a surprise but not a shock.
