Just like Quorth - I like this film a lot, but even I would agree that the beginning is the best part of it; deserted London, atmosphere of mystery, great creepy soundtrack, nude Cillian Murphy... er, scratch the last one, will you? ...they all make for a wonderful jumpstart to the following events. I will also always treat it as a zombie film - the rules have changed a bit but the spirit remained the same. This movie had some of the best atmosphere of any recently, widely released horror film. I liked the gritty Digital Video look--it really added to the atmosphere. I have a problem with the extreme high clarity of Hollywood's horror flicks. Like, again, House of Wax--too crisp, too clear. It just didn't resonate with me. The fast-jump-cuts didn't bother me too much, I think it was among the first I remember seeing that style and combined with the music and gritty appearance--it was fantastic. I saw some talent in the way those shots were placed--some real thought put into 'em. Not like Saw's truly awful "crazy fast crazy camera" jumpin' all over hell movement. Lame.

This is yet another movie on my "Must see it again someday" list. Saw this when it was first released in theaters and thought it was pretty good, but didn't quite live up to the hype. Let's face it, most movies can't live up to their hype. But, I didn't think it was a crashing bore either. If we must call this a zombie movie, then no, I didn't think it was as good as the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake or SHAUN OF THE DEAD. But it definitely had some intense moments and was far creepier and more original than something like SCREAMIFYOUKNOWWHATIDIDLASTSUMMERWHENWETOOKAWRONGTURNANDGOTCABINFEVERINTHEHOUSEOFWAX, for instance.

Hey man, Cabin Fever doesn't belong in that oblong movie title! It's better than all those other films!

Yeah, I agree it's the best one but still, eh. Nothing I'll watch again.

Well Cabin Fever was a surprise. I had no expectations because of negative feedback from other sites. Another one of my blind-buy's too. ;D I'd watch it again, when I absolutely forget its sitting on my dvd shelf.

It was okay, definitely not the savior of the genre it was being touted as, but for what its worth, I gave it a positive vote.

Eli Roth is more in touch with what Horror fans really want than most anyone else in Hollywood.
And for the record, I don't consider Romero to be a "Hollywood" kind of guy.
