I was wondering for the longest damn time where'd I'd seen "that guy that played the Scarecrow" before and by god I nearly shit a brick when you reminded me that I'd seen him before in "28 Days Later." ;D I'm really impressed with both his roles - here and in 12 Days Later. And by the way - he was a contender for the Batman role, lost it to Bale, but the director decided he liked him enough to offer him this of Scarecrow. He's also in Wes Craven's latest crap-o-rama coming out pretty soon. Looks like a terrorist movie or something.

Yup, Red Eye, huh? As a fan of Craven - I'm waiting to see it, but Cursed taught me not to hold my breath anymore.

Yup, Red Eye, huh? As a fan of Craven - I'm waiting to see it, but Cursed taught me not to hold my breath anymore. "They" was my "Craven turn-around" movie. It's crap. Then I saw how many more "misses" he had than "hits." I even rewatched "Shocker" and wondered what was wrong with me when I was a kid when I originally saw it. Ridiculous.

Haven't seen They. But it was only produced by Craven - not directed, wasn't it?

Even then, producers have an awful lot of power--sometimes every bit as much as the director since it's their money being spent. I'm not a big fan of PG-13 films as everyone on here is probably sick of realizing, and lately, that's all Craven's been doing.
It's sad to think that this is the same guy that started his career with a film so shocking (in it's day) that it was damn near exploitation.

12 Days Later must've been the preview Bart haha...
Yeah I loved this film. Loved it. I loved the idea of showing you how he 'gets his toys', and the fact it showed you set backs to it, like that stuff with the mask. I myself thought Bale was a risky choice but he pulls it off to such an extent I feel blasphemous thinking... Is he better than Keaton. Same with the Burton films, now I genuinely don't know which I prefer. I would say begins, for 2 reasons. One my age. I was like 5/6 when the first batman came out so couldn't appreciate it. 2. Because this got me excited about Batman which is something I had never felt. I loved returns but again age made it so my first big Batman film (cinematicly) was Forever. Nuff said. Then Batman and Robin which I can hand on heart say made me sick to my stomach, for blotching my opinions on Thurman and Clooney (who I actually like). NOTE; I prefer not to talk about Arnie.
Anyway, as a kid growing up and even now, my favorite bad guy was The Scarecrow. And when I seen Cillian Murphy was playing him I got really excited as I really like him. And he didn't disappoint. As said above, the scenes with him could've been longer, but the ones in which he was in - he nailed. He brought Crane's psychotic demeanor while maintaining a professional calmness which is unsettling. And the actual scenes with the mask and the toxin are excellent and a million times better than I imagined.
------------SPOILER---------------
And I loved that he got away.
All in all, great great movie.

Yeah. I was in Cancun (RIP) in the summer and I happened to be in planet Hollywood grabbing a bite to eat when the trailer came on. Now I dunno how you guys took the trailer but it was playing like a love story, and as I happened to like Cillian I was reasonably intrigued (plus Rachel McAdams is so hot with dark hair, this and wedding crashers show with dark hair she is gorgeous, with blonde hair (Mean Girls) shes ten a penny) to see what it'd be like... then wham... It turned into this crazy stalkeresque, horror film and I thought... wow... now I gotta see it.
The film however played out very different to I imagined when I seen it here. Now this was summer I saw trailer, so when I got home and realized film wasn't realized in Scotland till sept I was rather gutted. This led to me looking forward to it, thus building it up. So when I seen it I thought... em... well I dunno. The first 2/3rds were great but the ending. The ending blew it. Too many plot holes. But Cillian in it did not disappoint, bringing a certain psychotic charm. What u think Bart?

I liked Red Eye a lot - actually I'm planning to put a review of it here sometime soon. There were plot holes in it, yeah, but the film was done so well that I didn't notice them while watching it. And, you know, some of them can be explained by the main character acting under pressure and having little time for making decisions.
Cillian and Rachel were great, we agree here at least!

Remembering how you helped me to defend Vin Diesel once, I can't say you're not a guardian angel, neptunes; especially since we (plus Livingdeadgirl) were all against the rest of The Board there.

Exactly! We Diesel fans are a minority here, so me must defend each other to the death!!!
